Taming the Dragon...

It has been a long couple of weeks since I have posted.
Normally in the dieting blog world, when a site goes dark, nothing good is happening.
But that’s not the case here.
We’ve been rocking and rolling. Lots of great things.
Like summer break with the kids, and us enjoying every moment we can. A musical for the kids. And then there’s this little guy…

Merlin, the actual puppy. We got him from a family here in town. He’s a mutt, but boy does he look like a Newfoundland… which means he’s gonna be a horse. And you may recall that one of my greatest fears happens to be dogs.
Yet I’m finding that all the things I was once afraid of are not so bad.
(Except rats. I will probably be terrified of rats forever. I make no apology for that.)
Here’s the thing. I feel like right now it’s time for me to dive into all the things I have been avoiding in my life. I’ve gone through all my “stuff” and gotten rid of all the things I held onto. Be it personal possessions or attitudes and thoughts, I’m learning to conquer everything, one battle at a time. Some battles require backup, but I’ve got a fantastic support system in place to see me through.
And here’s a video (with my camerawoman Racy Tracy laughing through it all) about me doing just that. Taming the dragon within. Except this dragon is an actual dragon…

Okay I watched it muted (cause Matt was watching TV) but I still laughed so hard I almost peed! Gonna have to watch that again later with the sound on.

How about stepping onto it from OUTSIDE the pool? But then it wouldn't have been as funny. This way is better.

You don't like rats? Come on Charlie, they're soooooo cute!

I used to have a shit-ton of rats. In my infinite know-it-all, twelve year old wisdom, I bought a male and female. Needless to say I was eighteen when the third generation finally died off. I gave it another go when I was twenty, but after the deaths of my two sweet girls, I was too distraught to buy small animals again.

Now I stick to my goggies, but I'm tellin' ya, rodents are fun!

Those floats are nearly impossible to get on!! We had a shark last summer, and even my kids couldn't keep their balance! Thanks for the side-splitting laughs tonight! I heart YOU!

Oh the Puppy!! He's so cute!

Just so you know...we took in an adorable black puppy of unknown origin. He was a teeny tiny guy I could hold in one hand. He now weighs about 110 pounds and his head is level with my hip.

Yeah...just so you know...

LOL!! This video was the funniest thing EVER!!! I love it! I do need to point out that you looked like you were humping the dragon quite a few times so I'm thinking either way it's been tamed! ;)
