You are so right! Also, it's important for them to know that it takes all kinds to make this world and, sometimes, no matter what actions are taken to lose weight, they won't be "magazine thin"! Striving for balance is the key.

Great post! I totally needed this. My third graded has been saying she's fat for the last week or so and has started to pick at her food at meal times. It's really scary to me and that it's starting so early. Thanks for all of the great tips. I think that Brinley and I will have a mommy daughter day this week end and let her talk it out. :)

This post is amazing. I have 2 children, 4 and 1. I am constantly stressed they will grow up heavy like I did and I am always trying to stear the 4 year old to good choices. He's still young, so I have some control, but when he is constantly asking for junk, I get nervous. I LOVE your suggestions, and I will keep them in mind for when they are both a little older and this issue can be persued.

Thanks again!!

As usual, you are right on the money, honey! Love you, Charlie! I'm definitely passing this along.

Amazing post Charlie - I really feel the need to pass along what I've learned in my own journey to the younger generation but, like you, I think you have to be so careful about what you say and how you say it. I'll be linking to your post on my blog for sure!!
