Eye Spy

So on Wednesday evening, my contact decided to hate me. I wear the "day to night' type and wear them for a week then spend 2 days in glasses, then put them back in for another week.

Except my right eye got completely jacked up.

Yesterday morning, I had to keep all light out of my eye, because in taking my contact out the day before, I accidentally scratched my cornea. And it felt like someone poured sand in my eyeball.

I tried to keep up on facebook as best I could with my iPhone, but kept mistyping things. And my family spent the entire evening in the dark. I even took a picture of my eye. Gross, huh?

Today, with the eye finally able to handle the light of the computer screen, and much less swollen, I am playing "ketchup."
Here's the rundown.
I weigh 180.4, (down from 183 on Tuesday) and my goal is to behave this weekend, food wise.
I am restarting couch to 5K this weekend.
I will also be taking a bike ride. I'm shooting for 3 miles. Adding one mile every week.
I'm going to do everything I can to support my local teachers, who are facing a strike on Monday morning. For more info, join the Facebook group "Parents in Support of District 118 Teachers" and help us fight with our teachers.
And finally, I am going to start the "Insanity" program. That may wait till Monday. I'm scared of that one, but I think it's time to crank it up a notch fitness wise. I got a longer break than I wanted from the eye fiasco. I'm sure it will make for incredibly funny blog posts. Me doing real pushups and jumping jacks. Those things make me wet my pants. We will see what happens. I'll be blogging all weekend, but for today, I have a crapton of things to catch up on. So I must say adieu for now. But don't worry. I'm like that 5 pounds you lose and gain again and again...
I'll be back!

Poor girl. Don't let anyone fart on your pillow. I hear that's how you get pink eye, and I think with an injured cornea, you're more susceptible to other eye related issues.

Kind of like how hookers are more susceptible to STDs and getting hit by cars. Not at the same time though.

I feel I've gotten off topic a little.

I used to get scratched corneas all the time when I wore contacts. Finally one got so bad that it detached. There went my contacts forever. Now I just wear glasses 24/7. Ugh.

Sounds like you have busy plans. Breathe! Vee at http://veegettinghealthy.blogspot.com

This is my first time checking out your blog, watched your transformation video and... wow! You've done an amazing job!!! Good luck on the couch to 5K you can do it! I started out walking... today I finally did my first 10 minute mile! Its been my goal this year and I've been trying and trying to run faster and finally I've done it!

And that 5lbs you've been talking about yeah... I've been visited by those pounds over and over and over! I'm trying to get rid of them... again!

DUDE! GO TO THE EYE DOCTOR!!!

Contacts and their cases need to be treated like other medical equipment. I was one for sleeping, showering, (sometimes) swimming, etc while wearing contacts...buying the cheapest "multi-purpose" contact solution, rinsing my case out with a quick run under the tap---these things, while common, can introduce all sorts of nasty bacteria (and PARASITES) to your eyeball, causing damage to your sight, and possibly getting into your bloodstream. I don't mean to freak you out, but I had to help a friend who thought she had just scratched her eye. She's OK now, but we were all really concerned.

I'm only telling you this because I love you, Char-Char!!

LOL--and I guffawed into my coffee when I read Ms. Untypically Jia's comment >'o'<
